**To help make your child's transition from school to home an easier one, it would be helpful to have the following routines in place:
1. Every Monday, your child will be coming home with a navy blue Homework/Take-Home folder. In this folder there will be your child's homework packet and important papers from your child's teacher and our school. If there are any papers that need to be signed, filled out, or sent back to school, please place these papers back into the Homework/Take-Home folder. **The folder should return to school everyday. All other papers, forms, etc., MUST be taken out of your child's daily folder each night and left at home.
2. At night, once you have gone through your child's daily folder, place the daily folder (and any other materials that need to be sent back to school the next day) in his/her backpack right away. That way, nothing will be forgotten in the morning :)
3. When sending your child to school, it is extremely helpful for your child to have his/her snack in one hand (Ex. in their left hand). If your child is bringing a lunch from home, have your child hold the lunch bag in the other hand (Ex. in their right hand). This helps your child know the difference between what goes in the snack bin versus the lunch bin in our classrooms. Additionally, it helps make the morning routine a much smoother and faster process, thus maximizing learning time.
4. Please have your child's name written clearly on the outside of his/her snack (can put in a Ziploc bag). Additionally, please make sure that your child's lunchbox has his/her first and last name on the outside.
5. All students are to line up where the soccer field meets the blacktop, going from the basketball courts toward the bike racks, facing the school. Please look for your class' number on the blacktop. The first few days of school, I will put a chair out with my name on it, indicating where to line up.
6. To ensure the safety of ALL students (over 1000) at Woodbury, students are NOT ALLOWED to play on the field, play structure, basketball courts, blacktop, etc. before school. All students must head directly to their line and sit down facing the school, in a single file line. Please do not drop off your child(ren) before 7:45 a.m. as there will not be any supervision before then.
7. Please make sure that your child is leaving all toys (Pokemon cards, Bakugans, etc.) and personal belongings at home. These items are not permitted at school.
